Jesus Christ Is Lord (Not A Swear Word)

Probably anyone in San Diego has seen this semi-truck tucked away in an unassuming parking lot at some point in time. I've wondered at the conviction of whoever owns this truck. Is parking a red and white semi-truck on public property going to convert or even slightly change anyone? Will people who see this truck think twice before shouting "Jesus Christ!" at any time other than in prayer? I doubt it.

Yesterday, in my ever present job search, I came across a craigslist.org ad for a "transportation customer service position" in Point Loma...
Christian trucking company in need of a customer service representative to assist with answering phones, filing, data entry. Candidate will have a positive attitude, self motivated with high work ethic, PC literate in Word, Excel and Web navigation. Salary DOE.
...which got me wondering, what makes a trucking company Christian? I checked out the website and boom: Jesus Christ is Lord (Not a Swear Word) trucking company. Their mission is to use their trucks, which they rent out, to spread the word to the whole country. I wonder if they get a lot of business... If some Christian guy is in need of a semi-truck and also wants to spread the word to the country, he's in luck.

  1. On our way back to Colorado from a driving trip to Wyoming we saw the Jesus Christ is Lord truck and were impressed with it! The Bible states not to be ashamed of the Gospel, and how great to see someone who is not ashamed! The non-Christians love to make fun of us and say we are judging everyone...but the nonChristians seem to love pouncing all over the Christians with put-downs, even hatred..which they claim they don't like. The Bible says that if a person denies Christ in front of men, then Christ will deny that person before God. That is a pretty serious thought, isn't it? I would say, "Go for it, whoever owns the truck." Jean from Parker, Colorado

  2. The one thing I hate about religion, including the disbelief in all religions, is everyone thinks they're right and wants to convert others. People are too ready to resort to name-calling and bashing the other's beliefs. Nothing I said was making fun of Christians; rather I was complaining about the evangelizing these trucks are trying to do. Like I said in my last sentence, if someone needs a truck and wants to spread the Good Word, then this company is perfect.

Jean from Parker, Colorado: Thanks for your comment. That Christ will deny a person before God certainly is a serious thought... if you believe in the Bible's infallibility. My opinion on religion (being in kind of a strange place myself) is everyone in the world can believe what he or she wants to believe as long as he or she keeps it to him or her self. This truck doesn't do that- its purpose is to shame, and that's not cool.

Apparently you expect others to keep their opinions to themselves, but you don't hold yourself to that same standard.

You're not living according to your own rules. The solution is either: 1) Change your behavior or 2) change your view.

  5. It's blatantly obvious why she's yelling at you you are clearly blasting the Christian religion. I don't classify myself as any specific denomination because once you do that you're put into a category like every religion is trying to convert you. In Christianity that is definitely not true we don't just sit there trying to convert people just because they are not our religion at my church and how I was raised is that we should accept all faiths and not try to convert people just because they aren't our faith. My mother is currently fighting cancer and bless your soul for fighting that cancerous, tumor you are going through and I keep praying my mom will get through her breast cancer as I know Lord is always walking with me in my life.

  6. Do a little research into the corrupt and VERY non-Christian owner of these companies. If it wasn't bringing a profit or a place to hide the millions of dollars in income, the company would not exist.

    1. Hey liberal, yeah, anonymous I called you out.

Your such a liberal wimp and coward you hide your name.

      Do you see me hiding?
I have nothing to hide, Im a chrisitian
and people who claim this is to make people feel shame, it is.

obviously if you feel shame when you hear the word of God that is the power of God convicting you of rejecting him and sinning. you know your sins are unacceptable therfor you feel shame when you hear mention of God and you should.

    2. Jerold, the previous person makes a good point. I don't suppose you have anything that counters it?

Also, what's so bad about being a liberal? Doesn't it mean you allow others to live as they choose, rather than force them to live as you choose?

  8. I saw one of these trucks on my way to work this morning. I've been struggling with some issues lately and sometimes I feel all alone with my struggles. While I was driving, I tuned into a Christian radio station and it got me thinking about my relationship with God. Sometimes going through struggles can be a test of faith. Sometimes it leave you doubting in a Higher Power. I remember half-way praying while I was driving for Jesus to help me in my belief and to help me to have more faith. A few minutes later as I was headed towards the employee parking lot, right there in front of me in plain site was a parked semi truck with the message "Jesus Christ is the Lord" inscripted on the side of it's trailer. I had to do a double take to make sure I had read it right. I knew then that Jesus was speaking to me personally with that message. When I got into work, I asked before I did if they had seem the truck. They said they hadn't. So, it left me wondering if I really did see this truck or if it was just my imagination. That's why I looked it up on the internet to see if I could find any info on it and found this site. So, in short....Praise be to God for these people who drive these semi trucks. You never know when the message will jump out and touch somebody just when they need to see it the most, like it did for me this morning!

  9. I AM SO MUCH FASCINATED BY THIS CHRISTIAN TRUCKIN COMPANY... WHAT A FAITH FILLED MAN.. to put forth His business to glorify what He believes in ... & by the way..... He is not wrong ! Why people like to whine all the time whenever anything Christian happens.. & has nothing to say when the Media/Movie/Tshirts has Middle finger showing or F word.. as a message... No one has any problem with that ?? Really... Now... I know the owner of this truck has nothing to Loose... But everything to gain.. !Kudos to the Christian Truckin Company ! God Bless AMERICA !!

  10. HI MY NAME IS SOULVEI AND IM CHRISTAIN AND I LOVE THESE TRUCKS BECAU---- Oh wait... I have grey matter between my ears. Let's start over:

I'm an atheist who doesn't evangelize anything except the pursuit of knowledge. These trucks don't phase me because they're *mostly* harmless. I say 'mostly' because one was parked in a dangerous location in front of my boyfriend's office. It was pinned between two cars, obviously to make it more difficult to tow, and positioned in such a way as to block the view of the curved road while exiting the parking lot. There are enough accidents *without* that truck being there and it made me very angry that the company would do that. It sat there for a week and then moved on to badger someone else. I was very tempted to trek up there in the middle of the night and spray paint "hail Satan" in IMPACT (sans serif) all over it. I didn't. That would have been terribly childish, just like their positioning of said evangelical vehicle.

As a former Christian, it saddens me to see a company doing things like this. I'm glad it helps some people out, but it really doesn't do anything for the image of modern Christianity.

  12. Jean from Parker...The Bible says that it (the bible) is foolishness to those who are perishing! Praise God for these trucks and they do NOT convert anyone. they are stating their faith and God says, if you deny my name before man, I will deny you before my father in Heaven. It is up to you to choose life or death. Everyone will stand before the Lord! If we are right, if there is even a one in a million chance, would it not profit you to do the research!

  13. I am so excited, as I just saw this awesome truck on I-271 in Cleveland. I've never heard of this trucking company...and seeing the truck peeked my curiosity. Traffic was very heavy, as it was 5:00. It is my hope that others who are struggling with issues in their life, that this put a smile on their face. I 've read the various messages here, and some of them are really sad, especially the one from the individual who wanted to spray paint Satan on the truck. Not only was that a childish thought to act upon, but also a very dangerous one for you. It is my hope that by now, you have found the Lord God, and that he has touched your life. "Every" knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess". This includes you......

    Thank you truck driver.

  15. I saw one of those Jesus trucks pulled over in Cincinati Ohio yesterday. Funny thing is 3 cop cars and a dog were there there. I came back by about an hour later and the police were still there and the driver was in the back seat of the car. The police were removing various items from the jesus truck. Looked like a laptop as well some other stuff. If it was legal stuff the police would not take it. Sure is typical of religous folks these days. They just cant seem to practice what they preach and cant seem to do right by their fellow man and love little children in ways that we normal people would never consider.Religion is the worst sickness in todays world. Sodomy, theft, murder all in the name of God.Beware because the real devil is hiding in the church.

  16. You're view of religion is absolutely pathetic and apparently so are you. What you write didn't even make sense. The men with the Jesus trucks are doing a tremendous service to society in the name of the Lord, and at the same time putting themselves out there as targets so that God hating, church hating, socialist progressive athiest types like yourself can take anonymous internet pot shots at them like the true cowards you are. I am thankful for these brave men of faith who aren't perfect, but who are out there sharing a message of unconditional love, and that it's disrespectful to the Lord to take His Holy Name in vain. In doing so, these truck drivers are doing something greater than you God/religion haters will ever accomplish with your lives no matter how much money you make. So why don't you go back to your little life, with all of it's contempt, mocking, self righteousness, fear, loathing, and complete lack of faith...and in the end I guarantee you will be wishing you were the one behind the wheel of that truck.

  17. I'm amazed at the absolute belief many Christians seem to have that any sentiment that even remotely resembles doubt, or any sentiment that isn't a very clear praise of God, is akin to God and Christian bashing. After the most recent comment I received I went back to re-read what I'd written on this topic to see if maybe I did slip in some "I hate God" undertones. But I didn't. This post was me merely wondering if these trucks are effective at converting others to Christianity, and wondering if this business is successful. None of the 15 anonymous comments I received have answered either of those questions. Instead, most of the people who have decided to comment have called me pathetic, foolish, blasting Christianity, that I'm whining about the message, that it's a fact that I will die unhappy if I am not Christian (I never said I was or was not Christian), and one person even suggested that I "find God" just in case Christians are right, which I believe is a disservice to any religion.
I've read the Bible. Twice. No where does it suggest CHristians resort to name calling and insult throwing. In fact, Jesus says Christians should turn the other cheek. And no where did I say anything even remotely resembling anti-Christian sentiments. I wondered at the business practices of a Christian truck company and if semi-truck evangelism works. This leads me to believe people are incredibly blind.

  20. These trucks, with their anti-hollywood cross out circles, are pathetic just like all the "Christian" commentors here. If they just thought for one minute about how they don't believe in all the other gods the world has ever believed in, maybe, just maybe, they'd understand why most people today go one god further and don't believe in theirs. But oh, logic, nevermind. These trucks are an embarrassment to humankind and America in general. As if Hollywood in its entirety is bad. Nice broad brush for folks who preach you shouldn't judge others. Funny how they fail to mention all the genocide, child rape, and cover ups that have been perpetrated by such great Christians recently! Maybe I should drive around with that stuff pictured and crossed out on my car. Truly lost, brainwashed, indoctrinated, trapped humans. I wish everyone would just realize that there is probably no god, so stop worrying and enjoy this life, which is the only one we have.

  21. Every time i see one, i think: "Ahhh Jeeeesus Christ! Wacko" So, is he convincing me with his annoying trucks, usually blocking views of creation's creativity? No. In fact, I am more inclined to say a couple of words that no 'real' 'god' would be offended by hearing. In fact, if he/she/they/it are that damned petty, 'tahellwithem.

  22. I honestly don't like to have a religion because it does not make sense but seeing this i respect because i understand that this person does not want his lord being offended. Sorry but i'm still going say this word.

  23. Lindsay, I agree with all that you say about Christians turning the other cheek and I don't think that you have said anything that is bashing Christianity. You did state in a comment that the purpose of the truck is to shame, though, and I do disagree with that. I hadn't even considered that as a reaction when I saw these trucks. I felt uplifted because it made me think of my God. Some have commented with similar emotion. I don't have an expectation that everyone will feel the same as me, or that they will believe the same as me. You should not wear your feelings so far out that you can be shamed by someones message. I see messages all the time that I don't agree with or support and am happy that I have the freedom to see them and have an opinion. It keeps me thinking about what I believe in.

Concerning all the 'anonymous' posters that bash, this is the internet and many like to hide behind that anonymity. If you are going to allow postings, then you are going to get them. Many don't believe what they are posting about. They just like to ruffle feathers. That is not a true Christian's perspective.

    God Bless.

  25. I bought one of their black jackets with these words highlighted on it, wore it to the west coast and took to a revival in Wilmington, NC. I gave it to one of the ministers being ordained in that service. Little did I know that he took it and placed it around a man dying and on his last leg battling cancer in the hospital in Kentucky. I received a call that in two to theree days he left the hospital with no sign of cancer. I got me a load back to Amarillo and bought me another jacket.

  26. Driving back home from San Diego to Phoenix, we came across one of these trucks on a lonely stretch of highway. I pulled out my camera and took a picture, which is still with me to this day. It serves as a reminder of the great love that Christ has for us. My marriage was a wreck and my oldest daughter was a heroin addict. I took her to San Diego to try and regain some sense of normalcy after 2 years of slowly watching her decline into this drug induced abyss. In my mind I prayed that this trip would never end, somehow I secretly wanted to keep her with me forever. I knew that as soon as we arrived back in Phoenix, she would disappear back into her life once again. I prayed throughout the trip that things would change. I don't think she ever realized my deep suffering. I was heartbroken to say the least. I spent many long nights awake in prayer and I recall driving in the middle of the night. I didn't know where I was going but I couldn't sit at home not knowing where she was. I drove for a long time and finally I pulled my truck to the side of the road and sobbed for hours. I begged God to save her and not to let her die this way. Slowly time passed by...minutes, hours, days, months and finally God shined His light. She's now been married for 2 years and has 2 babies whom I love so, so much. Jesus Christ IS Lord and I have the testimony to prove it! Believe in Him. He has the power to save. A simple message on the side of a truck goes a long way.

  27. I think this is a wonderful way to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, using a trucking Co. to spread throughout the country. I do the same thing with my bumper stickers spreading the good news of Jesus. God may convict one or 2 people who's eyes once see the message of Jesus. Jesus said go into the world and be disciples and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is why Jesus hasn't return yet, he is being patient so not one will perish. Yes this trucking Co. your okay in God's eyes. God Bless you!
